Artists Invited to Share their Ideas and Thoughts for Somerset County Long Range Plan Monday, July 1 in Somerville
The Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission (SCC&HC) is undertaking a Long Range Planning Process during the next several months. Arts organizations, individual artists, history and heritage/preservation groups will have the opportunity to assess the County’s cultural and heritage resources, programs, services, needs and opportunities.
On Monday, July 1 an Artists’ Focus Group meeting, facilitated by the consultant team of Susan Schear and Susan Coen, will take place at 7:30PM in Somerset County’s 40 North Bridge St building(old administration bldg., at corner of High and Bridge Sts.) in Somerville in the 1st floor conference room. Artists who live or work in Somerset County are welcome and encouraged to attend. Parking is available either on-street or off High Street across the street from the building in the municipal lot. Please RSVP to Pat McGarry by email at McGarry@co.somerset.nj.us , or reply by phone to Cathy Bunting, SCC&HC Admin. Ass’t. at 908-231-7021
For those artists who cannot attend on July 1, and for all others, please save the date for a community forum to be held on Tuesday, August 13th. There will be three sessions- morning, afternoon and early evening. We hope one of them fits your schedule and you will be able to attend. Everyone’s input is valued and encouraged. The Farmstead has been honored to receive both historic preservation and general operating support for the arts from the grant programs administered by the Cultural and Heritage Commission and we highly encourage our friends to support this important effort.
