Volunteers are unpaid not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless (Erma Bombeck).


Volunteers are essential to the every-day workings of the Farmstead and each and every one is greatly appreciated.  Whether you have an hour to spend or would like to devote more time, we would love to have you involved.

The Friends are always looking for people who are passionate about the arts or history to join the board of trustees or serve on a committee.

We are in special need for volunteers with the following skills:

Treasurer:  Board position, prepare budgets, help with grants, work with accountant for tax reports, work with the bookkeeper to manage payments and receipts.

Construction Committee Members – meet approximately once a month with the historic architect and the contractors to review and monitor historic grant projects, determine construction and maintenance needs of the Farmstead and monitor construction and maintenance projects.

General Arts Administration – Assist Operations Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks and help behind the scenes at concerts, art shows, theater productions and more.

Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit and manage schedules for volunteers

Historic Preservation Specialist – Organize and maintain historical records of the Farmstead and  help to create an historical display space

Grant Researcher/Writer – If you are an experienced grant writer or someone with an interest in learning this important skill, we’d love to have you volunteer to help develop grant requests, research grant opportunities, meet with potential funders, write and administer grants.

Fund Raising Organizer – Have fun coming up with events that will bring people to the Farmstead.  Organize, prepare and help promote the events.
