Volunteers are unpaid not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless (Erma Bombeck)

Volunteers are essential to the every-day workings of the Farmstead and each and every IMG_3179one is greatly appreciated. Whether you have an hour to spend or would like to devote more time, we would love to have you involved.

The Friends are always looking for people who are passionate about the arts or history to serve on a committee or join the board of trustees.

We are in special need for volunteers with the following skills:

Construction Committee Members – meet approximately once a month with the historic architect and the contractors to review and monitor historic grant projects, determine construction and maintenance needs of the Farmstead and monitor construction and maintenance projects.

General Arts Administration – assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, office coordination, and help behind the scenes at concerts, art shows, theater productions and more.  If you enjoy keeping track of details, dealing with the general public and/or getting involved in the community, this is the position for you!

Historic Preservation Specialist – organize and maintain historical records of the Farmstead and  help to create an historical display space

Grant Researcher/Writer – if you are an experienced grant writer or someone with an interest in learning this important skill, we’d welcome your assistance in developing grant requests, researching grant opportunities, meeting with potential funders, and writing and administering grants.

Fundraising Organizer – have fun coming up with events that will bring people to the Farmstead.  Organize, prepare and help promote the events.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the Farmstead Volunteer Application and e-mail to Director Kathy Harris at admin@farmsteadarts.org.
