Safety Policies – COVID-19

Farmstead Arts Center Status - As of October 2020
  • Farmstead Arts is offering online Art Classes & Workshops (via Zoom)
  • Art Exhibits & Shows are being held virtually (via our website)
  • Farmstead Arts is closed for in-person events or classes
  • Outdoor events, within guidelines, are permissible

In accordance with the Friends of the Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead’s Charter and Bylaws, and to comply with the Emergency Directives issued on March 9, 2020 by New Jersey Governor Murphy declaring a State of Emergency and Public Health Emergency and NJ non-profit law, the following policies were adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Friends of the KMS Farmstead in August, 2020.

These policies rely upon guidelines issued for museum and concert venue openings:

Outdoor Event Policies

While we are happy to welcome visitors back for outdoor events at Farmstead Arts Center, we ask that all visitors, students, teachers, performers, volunteers and staff help to ensure the health and safety of all by adhering to the following protocols:

Capacity: Outdoor events will be limited to a number (100 – 150).

Social Distancing: Social distancing will be practiced at all times. A minimum of six feet (6’) of distance between persons/blankets/lawn chairs/family groups will be required.

Face Masks: All are required to wear face coverings at the Farmstead when a six-foot distance cannot be maintained. This does not apply to anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to their health because of a medical condition.

If a visitor refuses to wear face covering for non-medical reasons, Farmstead Arts will decline the individual entry to the outdoor event.

Restrooms: Visitors will be permitted to use the restroom in the Farm House while following social distancing guidelines. The number of people in the Farm House at one time will be limited and posted. A mask or face covering must be worn in the Farm House. Gloves are recommended. Please note:

  • Using provided hand sanitizer is recommended when entering the house.
  • Washing hands after use of the restroom is recommended and will be encouraged by signage.
  • Using provided hand sanitizer is recommended when leaving the house.

Waiver: All attendees at events on the Farmstead property will be required to sign a waiver of liability relating to the risk of COVID exposure.

Reminder: We will remind all visitors, prior to attending, that if they do not feel well, they should stay home!

Quarantine Advisory: New Jersey has announced a 14-day quarantine advisory for out of state visitors from states with rising coronavirus infections. If a visitor has been to any states subject to this order during the 14 days prior to the event, they will be requested to not attend (and notify the organizer

Indoor Event Policies - when we re-open

When we welcome visitors back for indoor events at Farmstead Arts Center, we will ask that all visitors, students, teachers, performers, volunteers and staff help to ensure the health and safety of all by adhering to the following protocols:

Capacity: Will be limited to 25% of a building’s capacity, excluding employees (12 people for the Farm House and 25 people for the English Barn).

Social Distancing: Social distancing will be practiced at all times. A minimum of six feet (6’) of distance between persons (standing or seated) will be required

Face Masks: All are required to wear face coverings while inside the Farm House and/or English Barn when a six-foot distance cannot be maintained. This does not apply to anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to their health because of a medical condition.

If a visitor refuses to wear a face covering for non-medical reasons, Farmstead Arts decline the individual entry into the indoor premises

Food & Beverage:  The consumption of food or beverages and smoking in indoor areas will be prohibited. Exceptions are allowed for individuals engaging in conduct necessary for their health or safety, such as briefly removing their mask to drink water.
